How To Get Rid Of The Date On Your Blog

Blogs are great, no doubt about it!

They are great for adding new content, and they get ranked really well in the search engines.

What helps is that people can leave comments on your blog. This adds great value to your posts.

Here is the problem.

The default for Wordpress has the date stamped on your posts.

Why is that bad? Well, it dates your blog.  What if you write a really great post, and you email it to your list?  What if you wrote it 2 years ago?

They’ll think you’re sending them “old” stuff.

They’ll also notice how often you update your blog.  Do you really want them to see that you only update your blog every couple of months?

Cut to the chase…

If you want to get rid of the date, you just need to delete a piece of code from your “main Index Template” and your “single post” pages.

You can either hire someone from Scriptlance for about $10, or just follow these simple steps:

  1. Go to your admin area
  2. click appearance
  3. click editor
  4. click your “main index template” on the right side
  5. Look for this piece of code: <?php the_time(’F j, Y’); ?>
  6. Delete that code
  7. Click Save

Repeat the steps above for the “single post”.php page.

That’s it. Very simple.
