I’ve been on Twitter for about 2 years now, and until I met Perry Belcher, I had no idea how to make money using social media. Social Media Marketing is not throwing a link to a sales page everywhere you can. You have to become a real human being so your potential prospects can trust you.
Rule Number 1
According to Perry Belcher, the first rule of Social Media Marketing is to treat social media as if it’s a party. You don’t meet someone at a party and immediately try to sell them something. You try to learn a little about them, teach them about you, share some knowledge with them, and HAVE FUN.
Treat social media the same way. Have FUN!
Rule Number 2
Perry Belcher has another rule for social media marketing. If you are going to sell someone something, use a buffer. So many people send you right to a sales page, and no one wants that. Take them to your blog. Right a quick little blog post about what you are going to send them to. Then send them after they read your post. That’s how you use your blog as a buffer. People don’t even know they are being sold.
